there are a few words i didn't understand in the kakurodoku rules

Rows and columns (including hidden black cells) must contain different digits.

What does it mean : "including hidden black cells" ?

It means that the grids are generated from a 9x9 sudoku grid:
refer to row 1 there are 4 cells=22 and 4 cells=18,
total sum=40
the black cell contains 5 that is excluded from 22 & 18 sums.

Like Sylvain, I didn't understand the rule of hidden black cell (that you have to asign a precise digit for each black cell), I hope that I can now solve these grids without having a headache !

perhaps my 66 years are too many.
last January 2011 I generated the base grids specially for kakurodoku, without the 3x3 boxes constraint.
